Happy Mardi Gras!
Mardi Gras literally means FAT TUESDAY in French.
The origins of Mardi Gras lie in the Christian calendar. Before the sacrifices of Lent people traditionally had celebrations and used up food that had to be given up during lent and it was usually meat.
For some, it is also known as Shrove Tuesday and some call it Pancake Tuesday.
In many parts of the world people celebrate Mardi Gras and many carnivals around the world do take place.
"Carne" in Latin means meat and "vale" means farewell.
International Visa Students

Hey MCI, are you still looking for a date to this year's Semi Formal don't worry your SAC's got you. The SAC is holding an online match making event from NOW until Tuesday. Links are available through SAC social media accounts and posters around the school. And come down Wednesday, February 10, to meet your match at the SAC Wedding Chapel in the Small Caf, just in time for Valentines Day.
