HAPPY MARDI GRAS!

Mardi Gras literally means Fat Tuesday in French.
The origins of Mardi Gras lie in the Christian calendar. Before the sacrifices of Lent (the 40 days prior to Easter), people traditionally had celebrations and used up food that had to be given up during lent and it was usually meat.
For some it is also known as Shrove Tuesday and some call it Pancake Tuesday.
In many parts of the world people celebrate Mardi Gras and many carnivals around the world do take place.
"Carne" in Latin means meat and "vale" means farewell.

Martingrove Wrestling Team is one step closer to the OFFSAA Wrestling Championship.
