Cheerleading

Hey cheerleaders!

If you have not done so yet, or are still interested for trying out for this year's MCI Cheer Team, please pick up a tryout form in the gym changeroom hallway. Remember that if you do not have a filed out form on the tryout day (Oct. 9 @ 7:15 am) you can not tryout!

Franco-Ontarian Day

  • Today is "FRANCO-ONTARIAN DAY"
  • Today marks the official raising of the Franco-Ontarian flag in 1975 in Sudbury Ontario
The green band to the left which represents summer has a white fleur-de-lys in the middle to represent the French-speaking community worldwide and the white band on the right which represents winter has a green outlined trillium - the floral emblem of Ontario. Together the two colours represent the diversity of Ontario's climate.
  • This day recognizes the contributions the French community has made to Ontario's economy, culture, history etc...
  • It marks the more than 400 years of French presence in Ontario
  • There are close to 600,000 Francophones in Ontario, the largest Francophone community outside of Quebec
  • Now for some trivia:

 Have you ever heard of Sainte- Marie- Among-the-Hurons?
