Math Department

Dress Like a Teacher Day

Do you have a favorite teacher or teachers that you just love and want to become? Have you ever thought about dressing like them? If so, come to school on Tuesday April 5 dressed like your favorite teacher or any teacher at all for Dress Like a Teacher Day!

Varsity Soccer

Try out forms for varsity girls soccer are on the intramurals board. Try out dates are to be announced! You must have the form filled out to participate in the tryouts!

Sr. Boys Soccer

Anyone who wants to try out for the sr. boys soccer team must attend today's tryout after school.

The Bully Stop Challenge

What is the Bully Stop Challenge?
The Bully Stop Hackathon challenges participants to discuss, brainstorm, sketch and design vsolutions in the form of apps. Groups of youth will work alongside experts in tech, education, and law enforcement to develop a solution that can help eliminate syberbullying. This creative hackathon requires no coding experience!
Who Should Attend:
You should apply if you are:
  • passionate about getting involved in social justice groups and activities
  • looking for volunteer hours
  • curious about youth engagement, social media or technology
  • interested in putting an end to cyberbullying

Registration for TDSB online summer school courses in July and August opens today! Come to Guidance to pick up an information sheet about how to register. Note: this registration is for online courses only - we will let you know when registration for classroom summer school courses begins. The deadline to apply for TDSB summer school co-op credit has been extended to Friday April 8th. Pick up an application to guidance.

French Field Trip

Relay for Life

Hey Bears! Time is ticking; team registration forms for Relay 2016 are due tomorrow, Thursday 24th. Remember, there`s a $15 registration fee for each member of your team and teams can have a maximum of 10 members. Form collection will be happening today and tomorrow at lunch in front of the Gym. Youth Ambassador to the United States of America

If you are 15-18 years old, returning to high school in September, commited to community service projects and have an interest in learing about the US, you are invited to apply to the Youth Ambassadors program. Selected youth will take part in a three week program this summer. No cost to apply and all travel expenses are covered by the program. See psoter in Guidance or speak with Ms. Archer. Applications due April 11.

Relay for Life

Hey Martingrove, have you made your Relay Team yet? The Relay 4 Life committee will be collecting your registration forms starting tomorrow March 11, and continuing to March 24 in front of the gym. If you need extra forms, please pick them up in the Relay mailbox in the office.

Tim and Trevor 

Tim and Trevor from the Seneca College Library Tech program have been hard at work processing new books since Feb 22. Come on into the library and see if there is anything of interest for your reading pleasure and delight for the upcoming break. If we don't have a book that you'd like to read we'll do our best to pick it up before the break.

MSC

Ms. Keane would like to congratulate the cast and crew of our Sears production for the awards they received on Wed evening. Congrats to Lorenzo Cicrone and Klaudio Uruci for their performance award, the entire cast of actors for their ensemble award for Cuase, the entire production crew (including Mr. Garnich) for their design awards, and to the writer's of the Tempest Within for their award for excellent adaption. All actors, writers, and crew members should be very proud. Congratulations again.

Scholarship fo r grads applying to college and university 

Hey, grads! Not sure how to fill your time next week? Why not spend some of your march break applying for scholarships? There are lots of scholarships with spring application deadlines posted on the scholarships deadlines posted o the scholarships board in application-check it out before you leave today.

Co-ed 

Are you  a male? Are you  a female? If so come to the co-ed volleyball tryouts on the first Tuesday back from march break. After school. Come pick up try out forms in the auto shop, room 116.

Swim

Congratulations to our Swimmnig OFSAA Athletes! Our two swimmers competed on Tuesday and Wednesday this week in Windsor were Alexander Lioa and Samantha Hartogsveld. Alexander had a very good result and finished 9th overall in the province for the 50m Breaststroke! Samantha swam in the very competitive Open category and had a very strong showing as well. Please give these Athletes Kudos for representing MCI and making us very proud!

Wrestling 

Congrats to our Wrestling OFSAA Athletes. Our two wrestlers were Andrew Parsons and Jovee Munroe who competed  last week in Windsor. Jovee had a very good result and finished 8th overall in the province! Andrew is the 2016 TDSB City Champion and he fought hard within the most difficult weight class at OFSAA, Please give these Athletes props for representing MCI and making us proud.
